The Whisky Shop
The Whisky Shop new opening, on Place de La Madeleine, is for us the opportunity to inform our whiskey long customers about what they can find near the Relais Madeleine, with the two great Pariasian specialists of Whiskey .We will not speak again of the greatest Parisian wine merchant, Lavinia, who also offers a wide range and of whom we have already spoken in a previous article.
Our British friends surely know The Whiskey Shop, which is present in Scotland and England through 22 stores. In France, it is only in Paris that you can discover this elegant concept store which offers a range of 300 whiskeys on two floors.
The ground floor is devoted to the presentation and sale of the products while the top floor offers a cozy tasting room.
You will find first of all a very nice selection of the classics on the ground floor. If you are attached to signatures that are dear to you, you will surely find something to satisfy your expectations. The Whisky Shop has also selected independent bottlers, less well known to the general public who will on occasion make interesting discoveries such as some French whiskey: Domaine des Hautes Glaces, Distilleries Glann Ar Mor, Rozelieures, or Distillery of Paris.
The clarity of the lighting and the ventilation of the presentation offer a comfort which helps the amateur, who is nevertheless an informed collector, to make a choice that pleasant and effective while being qualitative and accessible. The majority of the price range is between 40 and 100€ but extends from 100 to 300€ with a good selection. It can even reach 1000 or even 3000€ or more for a few bottles.
In the back of the store there is an ephemeral boutique called the Angels' Room, dedicated to presenting a different brand each month. For the opening it is The Balvenie which opens the ban with 5 premium whiskeys.
On the top floor there is a beautiful Empire style room, with a beautiful view of the church of La Madeleine, where you can taste Johnnie Walker products, which animates this space according to a calendar that is not shown. The space may therefore unfortunately be closed at the time of your visit.

This family business, which was established in Paris in 1956 at a time when the supply of whiskey was practically non-existent, offers no less than 2500 references intended not only for individuals but also for professionals. This "researcher" company is constantly in motion and renews annually a quarter of its range.
It is one of the leading French specialists in the import and distribution of whiskeys and will answer your most demanding questions. Whether you are a passionate collector looking for new sophisticated flavors or just newly amateur looking for an enlightened initiation, La Maison du Whisky is the right place for you.
