The concerts of the Madeleine Church

The Madeleine Church features a very dynamic music program. What's more, the Madeleine Church boasts a large pipe organ and a choir organ. Both instruments were created in 1845 by the organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. The large pipe organ features 58 registers distributed onto four keyboards.

You can attend an organ recital every Sunday, at 4:00 p.m, with free entry.

Above all, the Church hosts numerous orchestras, with concerts held nearly every day. About half of the concerts are free. Paid concerts vary in price, costing between €20 and €40. The Madeleine's website has all the programs presented in a somewhat mixed up manner, in French only, but this information, at least, exists. The program is mainly classical.

Professional-quality recordings made at the Madeleine Church are rare. The natural reverberation of the building makes sound recording rather technical, meaning that the majority of the recordings that can be found on the web is not really worth listening.
